This feature in the Degree Audit module allows students to self-enroll themselves to a degree or to elective subjects in a degree.

To enable this feature, you can go to the Degree Audit Settings > Student Self-Enrollment tab.

Degree Enrollment

You can allow students to self-enroll in any degree. You can also choose which degree to enable the self-enrollment settings for.

Ex. A school is offering the following degrees: Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Computer Science, Bachelor of Communication Arts. Once self-enrollment for degree is enabled, the students can now enroll to any of these degrees through their student portal.

Subject Enrollment

You can also allow students to self-enroll in subjects in a degree. When this setting is enabled, self-enrollment will be applicable to all elective subjects in that degree.

Note that students can only self-enroll to classes if they have a Class/Section Enrollment.

This is because when enrolling, they need to identify which Class/Section the subject enrollment will fall under.

Other Self-Enrollment Settings:

  • Admin Approval - If this setting is enabled, automatic enrollment will not take place as admins need to approve the student's enrollment request first.

Admins can view the enrollment requests for each degree by clicking the icon highlighted below.

  • Notifications - A notification message can be generated every time a new enrollment comes in. It can be sent out to a specific admin or a custom user.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

  • If a subject has a prerequisite, and the student has not completed that prerequisite, will the student still be able to self-enroll to that subject? - No, the student will not be able to enroll in that subject if the prerequisite is not yet met.

  • Will a student be able to self-enroll in a subject if the class is already full? - No, the enrollment will not take place if the class limit has been reached.
